I painted this in 2008 as a birthday present for my girlfriend at the time. It's based on a b/w photo, and I wanted to just use 3 paint colours, without mixing any blends etc...It's not like I'm lazy!

My Neighbour Totoro was the first Studio Ghibli film I saw. I loved the background and incidental animations so painted this from the scene where the big tree is first shown. 2005
